General Construction
From commercial renovations in the Lower Mainland to ground-up builds in coastal and remote interior communities, with our own HVAC, carpentry and finishing crews on site.
What we do
Groen is a full general contractor in the Lower Mainland, but most of our GC work is in coastal and remote interior communities, where planning, logistics and a self-reliant crew make the difference.
We work on many BC Housing job sites and with government and public-sector clients, and many of our community projects are delivered in collaboration with BC Housing and First Nations housing authorities.
Community buildings, housing, childcare and emergency services facilities.
Commercial renovations and bringing older homes back into service.
Controlled environments built out together with their mechanical systems.
HVAC, carpentry and finishing, windows and doors, done by our crews.
Our remote specialty
Remote work is won or lost before the first crew arrives. Groen arranges the barging, trucking, material handling, flights, ferries and crew housing so the project stays on schedule.
Barging, trucking, air freight and material handling, timed to keep the site supplied.
Crew travel planned around site needs and weather.
Accommodation arranged within the community.
Skilled trades recruited Canada-wide, working alongside local community members on their own community's projects.
Selected construction projects
Remote construction
A ground-up mass timber childcare and cultural centre, built for the wet coastal climate of the Bella Coola Valley.
Remote construction
A new fire hall for the community, built from the ground up.
